The Infamous Masterson’s , nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , brands itself as a fashionable, contemporary hangout, but my recent visit at this establishment became a nightmarish ordeal . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I encountered behind its walls was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.
The State of Affairs: Grimy and Disregarded
From the moment I stepped inside , it was evident that cleanliness was not a priority at this bar . The floorboards were filthy, and a foul smell of decaying beverages and neglected washrooms suffused the entire venue . Smelling a mixture of ammonia , putrefaction and a sickly smell. The bar area , which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and debris that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . The bathroom was in even a more revolting state — backed up, with a snapped lever and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was fecal matter .

Many visitors have reported seeing bugs darting across the counter and signs of rats in the bar and house area .
